Thank you.
Hi All,
Well, our 12 hour marathon came and went, with great success.
We had 63 dancers during the 12 hours
dancing to some fabulous music provided by our 4 bands, Shirt Tail Stompers, Sonny & The Honeydippers, 52 Skidoo and the
Ding Dong Daddios, supported by “Pinball Paul”, Martin Ellis of Swingland and Jim from “Swingbytes”.
Fed and watered throughout the day, the
dancers sustained their dancing; Charlie Thompson in fact danced the whole 12 hours to just about every tune!
We would like to thank all of you who
attended to support us and most importantly support raising funds for Parkinson’s UK.
We would particularly like to thank the groups of dancers
who travelled all the way from Portsmouth and from Gloucester for travelling so far to join us.
We could not have done all of this alone and would like
to thank Christine for helping with promotion and set up and baking, Alice for some lovely cooking of soup etc, Jenny and
Steve for some delicious cakes as well as Sue. Thanks to all who donated some food to keep us all going.
We also had a huge amount of help throughout the day manning
the door, keeping the food tables stocked, making sandwiches setting up and packing up etc so thanks also to Mary, Dell, Steve
& Jenny, Mark & Diahann, Alan & Debbie, Charlie & Jayne, Cheryl & Steve (hope I haven’t missed any
one).
Raffle prizes donated
by St Neots Fencing, I-D Image Development Photography, Lasting Impressions of Ramsey, Hamilton’s greengrocer, Swift
Stitch, Mercedes Owen, Marks & Spencer St Neots, Tesco St Neots, St Neots Football Club, many thanks to all who donated.
Thanks to Geof Connolly for donation of
helium for the balloon decoration of the hall.
We would also like to thank Barry Crabtree Photography for coming along and taking some wonderful photos,
which can still be bought online, with profit going to Parkinson’s UK still. Check them out at http://dotbaz.zenfolio.com/hopathon
A huge thanks to all of the bands
and DJ’s, we have to date raised £1100 (still some figures to come in) for Parkinson’s UK.
Lastly, apologies if we’ve missed
or forgotten anyone.
Best
wishes to you all and see you soon, Paul & Fae.
